Default New to Riding.

Whats up everyone I am a new rider all together. I have decided on a 600 for a first bike. I am trying to decide between a 600RR or GSXR 600. I know this is a Honda board so I am pretty sure what most will say. Looks wise the 600RR easy, and from what I hear the 600rr is more forgiving. My real question what will be better for me because of my size. I am 6'1 240lb. Like a football player. I know its all personal preference just wonerindg if anyone had a situation like this at all?

Also first things first MSF!!!

someone your size will need a bigger bike than a 600...
you better go sit on some before you buy...
My buddy is about your size and there is no way he could ride a 600...
just get a 750 or 1000 and ride safe....

Well I sat on my biddies GSXR 600 and it was fine. He told me that the GSXR 600 fits a little bigger than the 600RR

I have thought about a 750 but I really wouldnt want to start on a 1000. If that is the way I have to go then I will, and I will be very careful.

GSXR`s seem to be a bit bigger for the rider than the 600RR, so if its down to just size i`d go for the GSXR. New 06 one looks the dogs too.

I'm a big dude, 5'8 280 and I have a 600rr and I have no problems riding. It's best if you just sit on one and see if you feel comfortable on it.

are you dead sure about marrying either of these 2 hotties i.e. GSXr or CBR ?

you might wanna date their friendlier cousins - now they don't look as nice but get the job done

i'd check out honda's cb919 while i'm @ it

yea i can't wait to hit those curves. just trying to build up my confidence up some more. last month some friends and i went up azusa canyon and it was fun. the curves were slow like 30mph but that was still a good rush. i think i'm going to have to take another trip up there soon and get my bike leaning.

Hello and welcome to the boards. I definatly wouldn't look into a 600RR or a GSXR600 for a first bike. 600cc bikes are almost just as deadly as liter bikes nowdays. Take your MSF class first. Then look into an older 600F3 or F2. Ride that for a year or so, then go ahead and upgrade.
