new rider and cbr owner
Hello from Maryland!!! I recently purchased my first (2003 cbr600rr). Before i get the lectures, I know this probably wasn't a good choice for a first bike but i'm 6'4 and the little 250s are too small. Even on this one it looks like i'm sitting on a pocket bike. I searched through here found a wealth of information so I figured I'd sign up. I have wanted a bike since I could say the word "motorcycle" Now, I'm 30 and finally got one ( against my wife's wishes).
here are some pics. the previous owner gutted the exhaust, thats gotta go before i can even get tags for it

0 Lectures here man and welcome to the Forum. First off , very nice bike, then a 600
is a great bike for any rider, n00b or experienced ......just a great bike. Yeah putting
a new exhaust is a good way to go right first....... ya don't need undue attention starting
out .
Enjoy the bike ..... grab some good gear

Not sure what people here are talking about. A fuel injected super sport 600 is not a good starter bike.
However the fact of your age and that you have two kids (assuming) should calm you down and keep you more responsible. Just remember to take it easy and be gentle with the throttle. Also, take the MSF course if you haven't. http://www.msf-usa.org/
I am 6' 195lbs and rode a Honda Rebel 250 for three years...it was too small for me, but I was fine on it.

Welcome to the site, man! Bike looks really nice. Not sure wtf the previous owner was thinking when he chopped up the exhaust, though... lol.
I have a good buddy who's a neon guy, too. I don't like them, so we argue civic vs. neon all the time.
Enjoy the ride, man... and be safe out there.
