I have wanted to get a street bike for quite a while but finances were always getting in the way what with being a full-time student and all. I know that there are only "two types" of riders so I long ago put armor for me and my potential machine high on my list of priorities. Recently I was offered a bike in trade that I couldnt pass up.

I got a '97 cbr 600 F3 that has been down, then built up to handle being put down regularly. Full engine cage, frame sliders, upright bars, 12 o'clock bar, ### brothers slip-on CF pipe (# is what I cant read on the badge) and 15/54 toothe sprockets (I think, I counted with the chain on). Unfortunately the P.O. also pounded the top of the tank in, eliminated all forms of lighting and guages, and used enough zipties and crimp-connectors to make a harbor freight jealous.

Plans:
- Make it run. The last time I messed with the bike before I got it the thing fired right up. Now I can't even get it to turn over. I found one of the 3 yellow wires leading from the case in front of the shifter had been eaten by the front sprocket. I fixed that but still nothing. What else can I check?

- make it street legal. I have a "universal" hi/low headlight, a LED tail/plate light, and some random mini turn signals to mount along with an F4i guage cluster that I need to search for the writeup on. All of this came with the bike. I need pictures of the headlight plug, the turn signal plugs, and the tail light plug (can anyone help me out with these?)

- make it prettier and more comfortable. I want to replace the tank (classifieds here, right?) because I will never stand on it and it sacrifices a little bit of capacity being all smashed in. I want to find a tail fairing that I like and make it work, perhaps with the 12 o'clock bar, but probably not. I don't have any desire to have this thing pointing that far up.

probably some other stuff but its late, I just got in from working on it and I am very tired. I look forward to browsing the forums and getting to know the community.

well after thinking about it I figured the battery was toast because the charger indicator never moved when it was charging, even when switching between different charge settings. I was right. The thing turned right over with jumper cables... awesome. $80 dollar battery I am told

I then found a bad fuel leak while cranking it over, coming from AROUND the tube that goes between the pairs of carbs on either side of the bike. I wiggled it and found that it moves side-to-side unlike the one on the other side that didnt. I have no idea what the part is called and I have no idea how to fix it or even if i should attempt it myself.

please do take some pictures of the plugs that go to the turn signals F/R because everything was unplugged. I also need to fing the control for the bars because mine is gone. Other pic request would be the brake/tail/plate light plug. Thanks a million

yes it was used as a stunt bike. full engine cage w/ frame sliders, handlebar conversion, vortex sprocket(s?), rear "12 o'clock" bar for getting the bike straight up. Yeah it is a Two Brothers slip-on.
