Hi guys, the name's Irshaad and I'm the definition of newbie to riding. I'm currently in Uni and have kinda become obsessed with the idea of riding. I do not have a bike license as yet (driving for 5 years though) nor a bike, and no one in my family rides either (hence a total newbie).
I came across this forum hoping to learn from the experienced riders here and also to have a few of my questions answered.
1) As someone who has been driving a manual shift for 5 years, I was thinking that a CBR250R or CBR300R would be the go to bikes for me. Which one do you guys think would be better ? Other recommendations would also be welcomed, keeping in mind that my budget is around the above 2 bikes being second hand.
2) Specifically for South African riders, where do u guys recommend I go for riding lessons in Joburg ?
3) Also for South Africans, do any of you have the above 2 bikes for sale (or any of the posted recommendations, if any) because I'm a bit skeptical about getting a bike from a dealer. I feel that getting a bike from an enthusiast (like everyone in this forum) would be a much safer option.
Thank you and hoping to share my future riding endeavors in this forum
