Hello All,

After many years of waiting for "the right time", I have finally purchased my very first bike. A nice 2002 Silver and Red F4i with only 14k on the odometer... I couldn't be more excited!

I have ridden before... Of course, I was 18 and hijacking my Dad's 85 Honda Shadow 700 for joyrides around town while he was at work, but even then I was hooked! As they so often do, in the meantime things came up... Kids, wives, life in general and I never got back to it.

Now here I am 40 and finally back (well, almost... I will be after a trip to the licensing department for my permit and registration then a little thing called insurance) A few things I didn't seem care about at 18, but makes perfect sense at 40... Go figure!

I'm looking forward to riding on the weekends and getting comfortable enough to one day move on to also owning a nice touring bike that I can take my Sweetie on trips with! (but knowing myself, I will always have a sport bike for "me time")

At some point I may be looking for some rides and get togethers in the Boston area, so if you are around here keep me in mind!

Talk to you all later!

Welcome!
Good that you found riding again. 4.8 gal of therapy will do a man good, especially when you have kids and wives...
Check the regional section for riders near you.

Default Thanks for the warm welcome!

So I have been really enjoying my new ride the last couple weeks, getting to know the bike and reading ALOT in the forums. I have already started doing some of my own mods to my ride, with more to come soon...

Pictures will follow soon

Completed Mods:
Forward facing LED indicators (Triangle shape, carbon look)
Used diode tip from redzintimidator - Convert 2 wire signals to 3 Wire Inputs Thanks!!!
Fixed turn indicators on Hot Bodies undertail kit
(installed by PO... Incorrectly wired)
Additional license mounted signals (clear lense, amber bulb)
(MA Law requires separate signals in rear)
Throttle Meister Heavy Black Powder Coated finish bar ends/throttle lock
(for the slab time before the fun stuff!)

Coming Mods:
Zero Gravity Double Bubble Red Windshield
(REALLY hoping this looks good with the Silver/Red scheme, and I can't find one picture of someone who has this, which a GOOD thing!)
Steering Damper Kit - Sprint
Of all the possible dampers I like the way this one fits best and the reviews are solid.
Silver Rim Stripes
New exhaust slip on - Still researching sound and looks...
(PO says current slip on is Akrapovic, but I'm not sure how to tell, no markings or labels, and it's a little banged up, that bothers me)

That's it for now... As I mentioned, I will be posting pics soon. Any one with any thoughts or questions on any of the above, I'd love to hear 'em!

Thanks!
