I have been looking through bike forums for about two weeks now and really like the info and some of the active members that were here on CBRforum.com.
Well I lucked into a sweet deal (I think). This lady from my office was talking about making her husband get rid of his bike that he had not ridden for a couple years. I had been thinking about getting a scooter or a small motorcycle to commute back and forth to work with. I asked her if he would be willing to sell it, at first he was hesitant but I guess he thought about it and what a waist it was sitting in the garage. Although this was not exactly what I was looking for the price was right and it seems to be in decent mechanical condition.
My plan is to spend the winter cleaning it up, fixing obvious problems and get it ready to ride after some classes in the spring. Any help would be appreciated. By this I mean I hope to keep the clean up effort up to date on like and you guys can chime in with things I should look into to eleiminate problems down the road. Like I heard the chain tension is awful, should I just replace it right away with a manual chain tensioner?
Here are some pictures I just took.
Also I think the fairing is from a later model. As you can see by some of the pictures it just does not seem to fit as nicely as some of the other F1's I have seen.

Thanks for the links ebunz88cane. I will check out those links.
When I get the bike up to par and a course under my belt I would be glad to go riding with you.
Also, very nice bike you have, super clean. Where is the best place in town to get parts. I am going to need a carburetor rebuild kit.

Thanks for the welcome.
Looking at the pictures of my bike, am I right to assume that the fairing on my bike is not the one that it originally came with. Or is it just sloppy and needs to be reworked. I am pretty sure this bike has been dropped, I will find out more when I remove the plastic.

Welcome to the Forum !
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........you're new, so I'll be kind.......
Looks like I'm getting a bad rep here...........all Classic's fault !
But...Ebin, when are you gonna CLEAN that thing.....?
It's all the Nevada dust, I know.......[X(]
I'd look at the lower right area for an oil leak.
Fairings may have been mismatched - but as a starter bike - great..........
If you need a manual for it, download one below......
Enjoy.......
