Hey there.

I'm a new member (as noted by extreme post happy first day).

I've been riding on the street for some time... the last rider course I took was 2001.

I've ridden a number of bikes, just sold my old maxim 650 ( my touring bike) a few weeks ago and a few years ago I sold my last sporty bike ( 95 ninja 600r).

Lately I've been in a touring mode, but I've always wanted to get some track time in. I found a cbr f4 for sale for the right price that had been previously raced. It came with some good spares (plastics and rubber) so it was hard to refuse. I went for the test ride and found it comfortable ( very important for touring ) and plenty peppy.

I've logged a nearly 1500km in the past two weeks and have fallen in love with this bike. Later in the summer when I've put better street tires on her I plan on taking her on some longer rides.

I'll be looking for a tank bag, maybe saddlebags, a speedohealer... new battery, stock sprockets and maybe this winter some fresh paint and new decals.

I currently admin a few other forums and am looking forward to being a newbie somewhere new. Hopefully I can learn alot about this bike here, and maybe even pass along some of the bits I've picked up over the years.

Cheers,
woot.

Welcome!!!

I love long rides on my CBR and hope in a year or two to travel cross country (US) from Georgia to Washington state, I just feel the need to see the country.

I hear you... I've done some longer rides. Last year I did 5000km in 4 days - I was happy with it. Certainly not ironbutt pace but give me sometime

This summer I'm thinking about retracing my steps through NY/PA... not sure if I'll venture down in NJ or not.

Pictures... give me a few to find something...
