Hi guys, I'm about to pick up my first bike. I've never actually ridden one.. I'm going to take my motorcycle safety program either this week or next.
The bike is an 87 CBR 600.
It's not stock, bored 30 over, making it a 636cc engine..
stg 3 jet kit, two brothers exhaust, catless, and a couple other little things.
I'm new to the bike world, I appreciate any hints/tricks.

I've got 36 years experience and all I have to say is good for you. Just remember ride your own ride. D'ont try and follow past your own comfort zone. This is cruzial if you want to be accident free. I've seen over the years too many new riders try to keep up to experience riders and loose it because of inexperience. Ride to your confort zone and enjoy many years of fun on the open road. Experience all the different types of riding, highway, twisties, track, etc. That 600 is powerfull so drive cautiously t'ill you get the feel of her. Go out solo as much as you can on some winding roads and get comfortable with it. Anyhow enjoy it. ok enough preaching hope to chat to you later on.

Kudos to you for wanting to take the MSF Course. I recommend it to every new rider. Absorb all the information that is taught & build upon that w/ lots of practice. Read everything about riding that you can get your hands on.
As already said but is worth repeating...ride your own ride. Get good gear for protection. Always remember safety & responsibility.
Most of all, enjoy!
Welcome aboard! Good to have you w/ us.
