New member, interested in F2's for a first bike
Hello, I'm a Honda junkie of a different persuasion:
It's a damn quick car, but I'm interested in spending $1,500-2,000 on a cheap used bike, rather than throwing that money in the motor (right now at least).
I found a 91 CBR F2 for $600/BO locally, but it needs a water pump, brake lever and head gasket. I've done headgaskets before on my Civic, but I've heard that bikes are slightly more difficult to work on (who knows if that's true or not). I can turn a wrench, but I'm no mechanic, so I'm wondering if the bike is worth the trouble or not.
Thoughts? I'm going to ask the guy for pictures.

Welcome to the forum... get the pics and post them so we can see.
What's the history? Wrecked? Why/how do we know it need a head gasket?
For 2000, you should be able to find a newer bike that needs less work and has better technology to it.
