New member, Hello all!
Hi guys,
My name is Styx91, I'm from the Netherlands. I'm 24 years old and been driving motorcycles since my 18th. I always drove allroad motorcycles, but since 2 weeks I am the proud owner of a CBR 600 F2 '91 and I pretty much fell in love with her and riding motorcycles all together!
A few weeks ago a friend told me about this CBR 600 F2. The motorcycle has stopped running during a ride. This was 1,5 year ago. Since then the bike stood on the curb, under a blanket.
I told this guy I'd buy the bike from him for 500 euro's and he was okay with it. The bike was pretty damn dirty, but looked in good shape. So I took her home and went to work. Got a new battery, new sparkplugs, some new oil and changed all the filters. After that I tried starting her up. I figured out she didn't get any fuel, so I dismantled the petcock. I suspect the vacuum system from the petcock didn't work properly. So I found a post somewhere on here where a guy modded the petcock by switching a spring to the other side of a membrame. Then I started her up and she purred like a kitten!
Just wonderful how she runs! When I took her for a testdrive I really fell in love with her. The power she gives at high revs!!! Ahh.. I wasn't used to this kind of speed!!
Anyway, I'll be posting some pic's of her later, when I figure out how to post pics.
Just wanted to say how I love this forum and how passionate you guys are about your CBR's! I'll be lurking around here and maybe post some problems if they occur. And of course check out the project of old CBR's.
