Hey everyone... first time poster. I just signed up for the MSF basic rider course and will be taking the class in the next few weeks. I currently have an '02 RSX-S for my daily driver and an '05 S2000 for fun... hopefully a bike will be in the near future as well! I'm considering a CBR600F4i after I complete the course. Anyone have experience with a CBR600RR or CBR600F4i as their first bike? Any info/tips/etc is appreciated... thanks!

I had a F2 as my first bike after taking MSF and have a F4i now. Both are pretty easy to ride.

Hey man I am also from cincinnati OH. I go to UC and I actually got on 06 600rr for my first bike. I would say if you are a pretty smart person and know your limits you will be fine. Others will disagree. I have had my bike for a year now and no problems. If you ever wanna look at it or what not hit me up since we are far apart. Where are at in cincy?

Thanks man I appreciate that, I might take you up on that sometime... I'm a Honda nut so naturally I am looking at Honda bikes. I'm in the Montgomery/Blue Ash area in Cincy... I went to UC for 3 years but finished at Xavier.

Yeah I did, I actually had to sign up with Balance Dynamics down in Walton, KY to take the MSF course. Great Oaks is booked solid and I didn't want to mess with trying to get in a spot where someone didn't show up. So my first class is June 6th, and then June 14th/15th. I'm really looking forward to it.

As for looking for a bike, are there any local dealers you recommend around here for getting one used? I don't want to purchase new but if I could get an '01+ CBR600F4i or CBR600RR for a good price, that would be great. I've been watching craigslist and cycletrader for now.

If you take the MSF in KY you will not get your Ohio endorsement from it.

I actually think he is right about that. But im not sure how all that works. If you have an Ohio L I dont think that will work but the course will still be very beneficial for you. I took it over a year ago and i think im going to take the exp. course this year. If you wanna get with me I can help you find a bike. Both the f4i and rr are really good bikes. Send me a pm and I can help you find one. I dont know how much you are trying to spend

I checked with the DMV and they said it's possible so hopefully I'm not getting bad information from them. Apparently the way it works is after I get my KY BRC completion card, I have to mail it along with copies of my license and other things to the DMV HQ in Columbus. Then they mail me back an Ohio BRC completion card and then I'm supposed to take that to the DMV to get my license. At least that's how it's explained in the material I got from the DMV. Hopefully it's right! Worst case I'll at least take the BRC in KY and get some ride time in to practice and then take the riding test at the DMV.
