Hey Everyone,

I just purchased my new 2005 CBR1000RR this past November as part of my mid-life crisis. I haven't owned a bike since I traded my 1985 Intercepter 500 for a car in 1988. That was one of my all time worst descisions ever. I haven't really riden since then, so it's been about 17 years. I've always wanted a 1000cc sport bike, there's nothing like the feeling of leaving everyone in the dust. Since I live in Florida, I get to ride most of the time. It's been quite chilli the past few days, but next week it's supposed to warm up again. I do most my driving on the highways, and for some strange reason, cars do actually move over in the right lane faster than when I'm in my car. I wonder if it has to do with me coming up on them at 130. Yea, I'm still sort of a rebel. Funny thing is that one reason I purchased my bike is because I really hate traffic when I'm in my car, but when I'm on the bike I can't wait to zoom by more traffic. Wierd!

Since this isn't my only means of transportation, I really want to have fun with it. Anyone got some cool web-sites with some off the wall type customization ideas? I thought about a turbo, but after talking to a few people I guess that's not the way to go. My neighbor says there's a place that shaves the heads to get a higer compression ratio and more HP, but don't know if I want to do that just yet. I'm customizing a new leather jacket from Syed Leathers in Orlando. It's going to be bad ***, but they won't have it done for a couple more weeks. Any other ideas?

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and I really like reading everyone's notes.

Hello & welcome to the forum. Talk to the guys in (click here) at CRB Zone. They can walk you through making engine mods. I'm not sure I'd ever want the sudden surge of power you get from a turbo on a bike... could be interesting.
