Default New member all the way from Europe

Hi guys and gals,

I found this board through Google while looking for some info on undertails. I like the site and decided to join up.
My real name is Willem, although I mostly use William for people outside the Netherlands. I ride my bike both for fun and to get to work, but only if the weather allows it.

As for the bike. I bought a brand new F4i in March of 2002, shortly after getting my drivers license. It`s called F Sport (FS2) over here but it`s basically the same bike as the PC35 F4i sold in the States.

Here`s some pictures of it completely stock.

Last year I made a few basic modifications:
* LASER Duo-Tech slip-on muffler/titanium/oval w/ race insert (77.1004.U)
* Fabbri Double Bubble Dark Smoke (H033/DS)
* Puig hugger

A couple of months after taking those pictures I ripped off the huge ugly blinkers and installed four clear LED ones. I wanted to make pictures of that too, but haven`t had the time. And the weather has been rather bad this summer. Thunder makes for nice pictures, but the rain and mud on a bike really don`t...

There are several plans for the winter. I`d really like to do the electric trunk release mod and if I can find a nice place to put the ballasts I will be installing HID Xenon headlights as well. I might even try the angel eyes (BMW) or LED strip (Audi) mods when there`s still room. And I`d like to see what it looks like when both low and high beam lights have the same reflector and are adjusted to the same height. I don`t know if that`s even going to work at all, but we`ll see.

What bothers me most though is the mud flap. So an undertail and clear LED taillight are on my list too.

To anyone who is still reading, enjoy the board. I know I will!

Cheers

Edit: new pictures with LED signals and taillight. The small signals on the back, of course will go if I can find a place to buy the undertail I`m looking for...

With it`s older brother...

Trunk release mod, undertail, Xenon and black pegs (should look cleaner with less different colors/materials) will hopefully follow soon. I`m also considering white rim striping.

Welcome to the board! Nice looking bike. Go for the HIDs ... you won't regret it. The difference is unreal. I hid the ballasts on either side of the front faring bracket and the igniters were small enough to tuck behind the upper faring on the frame. Mine is on a 04 1kRR but I imagine the empty space is about the same.

Here's pics of my install ... first one on the left you can see the igniter (yellow and black). Have since tucked it further back along the frame. Can't see it at all now. Last pic shows where I stuck the ballasts ... one on each side. The faring bracket alread had two holes so I just bolted them on and put the naugahide cover with some snaps and wire ties just in case.

Hi, mine's a little different. But thanks for the pictures!
I always find it helpful to see what solutions others came up with.

And the light from your HID units looks wicked cool.
The more I see, the more I want it...

Thanks! I don't see this color scheme a lot outside Europe. They never sold it like this in the US or Canada right?

The 2008 blade also comes in white and black here. But taxes really suck $21.790 in The Netherlands vs. $11.599 in the US.

PS lol @ squid avatar

I'm no F4i expert, but I believe you're right on about the color schemes. Good luck savin up TWENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS to buy a mass produced Japanese sport bike lol...

Nevermind the sick bike...I'm in awe of your command of English...you don't see any Americans speaking fluent Dutch...no matter how many times I watch the race at Assen...

Welcome.
