RE: new member
Welcome to the family. I am so very glad you joined this site...why you ask...we have awesome subscribers here who are wise beyond our years to give you information like...I hope like hell you have taken an approved motorcycle safety course (preferrably MSF Motorcycle Safety Foundation). You are 16 and just bought a '04 1k...hmm, just the other day, one of my guys lost it in a situation that I avoided (thanks to MSF training and experience) and trashed his '05 CBR 600RR. He's 25 and you are 16. Believe me...I'm not junking you or nothing...I just hope you know what you are really riding on. Post some pics of the beast and let us know what's up. You have a lot of power and agility in that Honda 1k. Know your limits and stay within them. You can be wise and stay upright or you can be a wiseguy and bite the big one. Don't let we fellow riders down. Ride right, ride safe, ride forever.

yeh bro im only 20 and i got a 600 when i was 18....right when i turned 16 i bought a 300zx...and with a 250hp sports car under my grips i was the absolute embodiement of every 16 year old...a speed demon...i got quite good at rear wheel driving and it was tons of fun on a track (thank god for Mid-Ohio where speed is legal)...was still quite a bit of the speeder when i bought my bike my sr year of Highschool...but it'll scare ya safe...i hope...especially with that 1grand between your legs...the guy i bought my bike from told me once you're not affraid of this bike...sell it cuz then you start being stupid....so try to keep a little fear in ya..a pleasant balance of fear and confidence if you understand what im saying..so i babble alot..
just listen to the guys on here
and by all means wear a helmet and be safe!
my only accident was in a neighborhood going pretty slow...one of those situations where you'd be tempted to say i dont need a helmet for this...but the gash on my lid shows me jsut how much you need it on even for something small...
