Hi guys/gals, new member here.

First off, a little about myself.... Well..... errrrr.... My names Carl Simmonds, 27 years old, living in East Cambridgeshire and currently riding a 2012 Honda CBR600f.

Started riding when i was 20, starting on a CBR125, bought brand new for way more than any 125 should ever cost. Spent the next seven years and 41,000 not entirely trouble free miles riding the little CBR around.

In 2011, a friend moved in with me so i had the chance to ride this about for a bit, giving me a quick 2 stroke buzz to cross off the bucket list. Was fun for a while but running costs were astronomical compared to the WeeBR.

In september this popped along:

Luckily i have a very understanding and forgiving other half (Hands off!!) so was allowed to keep SOME of the toys and just three weeks ago, i stuck a deposit down on this 2012 CBR600f. Currently restricted as i did my test on the old 125 to save a few quid.

Heres a few pics of the new stallion.

Well folks, thats me. I look forward to maybe someday meeting up for rideouts and meets etc.

Also a member of a couple of other forums so should be able to find my way around here alright.

Thanks for reading.

Carlos.

Welcome to the forum Carlos!
Congrats on the new baby, and the kid too! lol. Sounds like you've done you share of riding over the years. Experience is always welcome here (as well as inexperience ).

Nice intro Carlos. Welcome to CBRF.

Sounds like you are a very busy guy. ;-) Good to hear that your other half supports your riding. That's a huge barrier for some. Does she ride?

Good to have you w/ us.

Give her a bit of encouragement! Is the little 125 sitting spare now? If she's already got the gear for going pillion then she's gone most of the 9 yards already! Just needs a CBT ;D go on, I need some female biker friends.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the wee nipper! I don't think the 125 gets enough love, but I'm obviously biased. I just can't believe how phenominally CHEAP they are to run. I can't believe I didn't swap for two-wheels sooner, but I've not done a winter yet so might change my tune.

No amount of poking and prodding will even get her close to thinking about doing her CBT, trust me i have tried! Strangely she didnt think twice about going on the back!

You could always tell her after one of your rides that you met a girl rider. That might have some effect. ;-) J/k.

Her riding pillon is def better than not going at all.

Let's face it, her being positive about you keeping your toys is ahead of the curve in itself, her coming along for the ride is a nice little cherry on top!

Especially with the little un now on the scene. That was the nail in the coffin for my dad; as soon as I came along my mum made him get rid of his bikes. Shame too, I think the last one he had was his big Goldwing and he loved that thing from the stories he told.

At least she's not trying to force you to get rid, telling you they're 'too dangerous'.

So... have we got a little baby boy or girl future biker on our hands?
