New to me '97 FireBlade, like new
So I was cruising craigslist loking for a Subaru STI for my job and ran across an ad for a 97 CBR900RR. Said it was in 'showroom' condition with 9000 miles. A few tasteful extras, plate tuck kit, flush mount signals, smoke windscreen, Yosh pipe, K&N Filter, tank bra, a set of sidebags, 2 matching Helmets, Honda racing leather jacket, and new Alpinestar boots.
New tires, just tuned, etc etc.
Long story short, I really didn't believe it was as nice as it looked or was advertised. So early Sunday morning I drove up to meet the guy who was the original owner, nicest guy I have ever bought anything from. Had an injury and couldn't ride anymore. We agreed on a fair price and I loaded it up in my trailer.
Al I can say is I plan to own this bike til I can't ride anymore, it is really in showroom condition, looks like new and runs even better. Not a scratch or nick, the paint is like brand new, no fade at all.
Have a look.

A quick update, I have been able to ride the bike quite a bit this last week and noticed that the bike never really came up to temperature. The gauge works but it would stay right around the left most white line. The only time it would get into mid range was when I hammered it or sat in traffic for a while.
I am in S. Florida so it's not the ambient temperature. My first thought was thermostat stuck open or partly open, I did some research and finally decided to pull it and see. I sure wish the T-stat was a little easier to get to, I didn't have to pull the carbs thought Clymer manual says to pull them. I did need to pull the seat, tank, air box, and some vacuum hoses.
Yanked the Thermostat out and sure enough, stuck open. I couldn't find one local to had to order a new Thermostat and O-ring, should be here sometime next week.
After I had it apart, which is always a good thing to get to know your bike, I decided to pull the carbs and ordered a DynoJet stage 1 kit to be installed later in the week.
Here is what the T-stat looked like.
