Hey everyone,
I bought my CBR F2 about three years ago and joined this site at around the same time. Learned a lot about riding and working on my bike. Here's what I have so far:
10.10.09
When I got it home. It was a bit rough, but the engine and the frame appeared to be solid. Had good friends to help me out.
12.06.09
Installed a D&D slipon, which was a mistake. WAY too loud. Decided to switch back later.
04.11.10
Had to get stock side view mirrors because the aftermarket ones were too small and I was just a new rider. I actually preferred these over the stock ones anyways.
10.23.10
Decided to install some aftermarket goodies. The current ones were rusty and worn out.
04.02.11
Took a while to piece together, but was able to get the F3 fairings as a nice little update for the bike. Wanted to test fit everything before I got to work on it.
A sample of what I had to work with. As you can see, I had my work cut out for me. Purchased some plastifix, some necessary tools, and got to work...
04.04.11
Stripped it down for the first time. Never did it before, so was pretty nervous up to this point.
06.20.11
Now we're getting somewhere. Painted the tank flat black and installed on the bike. Had to say that it looked pretty good for an amateur job.
07.03.11
It's starting to come together. Painted more parts after doing the repairs with the Plastifix.
07.10.11
Completed. Got all the OEM bolts and other hardware to finish the installation. Didn't expect it to be the best job in the world since this was the first time I worked extensively on a bike, but I am proud of my efforts.
Well, just wanted to drop by, introduce myself, and look forward to hanging out on this site for a while. Thanks for viewing.

Thanks everyone for the comments! Love my CBR and looking forward to learning more about my bike.
I used spray cans instead of a paint gun. Surprised it turned out the way it did.

Cool bike, man! Normally I resent all black bikes, but that matt finish really suits it! Now I know what to do with my f2 if I ever crash it. Good job with the rattlepaint too, I've seen quite a few bodge jobs when kids have painted their cars with matt black cans and the result looks more like camo than flat, smooth black... Planning to paint the rims too? I should, but can't seem to get to it...Btw, how's that matt finish enduring use? Are the tank cheeks and other parts that are being rubbed getting polished or is it holding matt? Obviously U can't wax it can you? Can't remember ever seeing matt finish wax...

thanks for the comments!
@matt, the black turned on pretty decent. surprisingly, my gf has really awesome sanding skills (as evident on the tank). i would only recommend this if you really don't want to invest in a professional paint job. but it will require your time and commitment to complete the job on all the fairings. and i wanna keep the wheels white so at least it's somewhat visible at night. plus, i really like a black and white combination on it.
