Default New here, looking for a CBR

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd post a quick intro. I'm currently in the market for a CBR (going to check out a few this weekend), while I try to sell my Ninja 500R. The bike I might fall in love with in a few days is lowered ("professionally") so I came here to find out more about that, and whether I can easily raise it.

Most of my co-workers ride, so last spring I decided I would too. I work right above a licensing centre, so I went down on lunch and got my learners. After that I called the local school and signed up for lessons, and set to finding a bike.

I love CBRs, but my Ninja was such a ridiculously good deal that I couldn't pass it up. Now I figured I'd try and sell my "beginner's bike" at the start of the season and entice someone like me last year, so I can get the bike I wanted.

Here's a pic of my current bike. Sorrry about the quality, I took it with my phone.

Welcome to the CBRForum NineOne.

Ninja 500s are great learner bikes. Hope you're able to sell it for what you're needing out of it...& too, that you get the CBR that you want. You'll love the CBR.

Keep us posted on how it goes. Good luck.

I got my CBR!
Spotted it on Craigslist on Saturday in Vancouver (I'm in Victoria, on an island next to Vancouver, so it's not a "run over there right away" proposal). Went over on Sunday morning, bought it and brought it back.

(Sorry about the iPhone picture quality. also, the bungee cord on the back is to hold my bag on, not because it's falling apart. I just didn't know my magnetic tank bag wouldn't work...).

The first thing that happened after I got it, is someone hit it in the parking lot and knocked the right footpeg off No other damage though, thankfully.
Someone else left a note with a plate number that "hit my bike" but nothing else on the note, and the plate doesn't exist.

Otherwise, I'm loving it!

Oh that sucks in the first day. Bike looks good though

On lowered bike, you cannot lean as much as regular bike can. So take it easy around the turns. My bike is lowered too.

It might be just the angle but I'm reasonably sure the bike's not lowered. I'm 5'11 and my feet are only just on the ground on either side.

I just ordered some new footpegs and a smoked windscreen, so in a couple weeks the bike will be just how I want it.

Really nice bike NineOne! A black beauty!

Sorry about the parking lot shenanigans. Glad there wasn't more damage.

Enjoy! :-)
