Default New guy from TX!

Hello everyone!

I recently hit picked up a 2007 CBR 600RR all black and love it!

One silly question, what oil weight does my bike need?
-Bike didn't come with an owners manual(I'm going to purchase one soon tho!)

Thanks in advance!
James

Welcome aboard James! Congrats on your new to you 600RR!

Search online for a download of the service manual.

The factory Honda service manual for the '07 600RR recommends Pro Honda GN4 10W30 for your bike. However, 10W40 is also acceptable via the manual, "depending upon the avg temp in your riding area". Everyone has their own preferences on brand, weight, etc. Basically, for std use, 10W40 is sufficient & probably the better choice.

Thanks gotcbr! I'm considering amsoil, since I've heard nothing but good things, any objections?

Full synthetic 10W40, but it's $11 a quart on the website, anywhere else cheaper?

Sure thing.

No objections to Amsoil. Yeah, its expensive. Sorry, no links to cheaper sources.

Search around here on the forum for oil threads...we've got a few of 'em w/ everyone weighing in on their favorite oils. Basically, any quality oil suited for our bikes will suffice. ProHonda, Rotella, Repsol, Motul, Mobil, Castrol, etc.
