Default New guy from St. Louis

Hey all. I currently own a gs500, though after a winter of working on the carbs, I'm so ready to move to something fuel injected. Plus I'm looking for something that has more 'umph' out there. The GS was a great learner, but my bike was an abused POS (all from previous owners), so I'm ready to get something nicer and sportier.

I've been talking with a guy that's selling an '06 F4i for 4500. The bike looks good. It's mostly stock and only has one scrape on one side that's about 2 inches long. Plus it only has 6k miles. My GS has 19k, so it's definitely an improvement!

I'm checking it out tomorrow, and hopefully it looks/drives as good as it does in the pics. The weather has been awesome around here for the last month, so I can't wait to get out there!

I do realize the F4i will be a huge change from the GS, so I am a little nervous about moving up to a much different bike. What should I watch out for when I first ride the F4i?

"Umph". ;-) All j/k aside, the throttle response will be much quicker than your GS. Just use careful throttle control & you should be fine.

Welcome aboard!

Yeah, that 'umph' is definitely something I'll have to take it easy with...lol. Plus the much more aggressive riding position, coming from a standard bike, is something I'll have to take into account as well.

You'll be fine. Just remember your basics of throttle control, clutch control, & braking. Just relax & focus, & it will go well.
