How did you go about getting a salvage bike? I have been thinking of going that route for a track bike but don't know where to start.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

actually i bought a load of parts with the intent on selling them for extra cash....paid about $400 for a motor that had less than 3000 miles on it. It came with extra stuff like controls, riders seat, harness, gas tank, radiator with fan, muffler came with it but it had a big dent so i got another one from fleabay. Also got a front wheel with it...tire was totally jacked on it...still had the rocks from the crash stuck between the tire n rim.

Oh, ok. I thought you bought one from an insurance company or something. I have heard of bikes being written off when the damage really isn't very severe (like a scratched frame).

Welcome! And if the plastics are being a pain in the ***, leave them off! I love street fighters... lol Seeing as how this is a repaired salvage, this thread definitely needs pics.
