Talking New guy here from VA!!!

Hey everyone!!!

Looking for any and all advice on buying a used CBR. Lookin for a CBR600RR I have 3.5 right now, here in another 2 weeks Ill get another 2k (if everything goes well)

So Im lookin for a 2003 and up model, Really want a RR (like how the exhaust comes up the rear instead of the side)

So my questions are basic as in how long do the motors last? Anything I should look for while looking at a bike?

I have some years of riding expierence so im not brand new to riding I used to own a GSXR 750.

Thanks everyone!!!

P.S Stoked to get another bike espically a CBR!!!!!!

Also just moved to VA like 5 miles from DC so if anyone wants to hang out lemme know!! Lookin for some friends to hang out with get to know the place Im about to start school for EMT and Paramedic!

First off, welcome to the forums! First thing on buying a used bike, I wouldn't finance, financing a bike is a bad idea IMO. You should be fine if you're going to have $5,500 though. A good motor will last well past 75k miles. Take a look at thirdgenlxi, he has an F4i with over 100k clocked. I would stay away from painted bikes, because sometimes they have been laid down and the paint is just to cover up the fix it job.

Yeah Im gettign a CBR HAS to be a RR I love the way the exhaust is!

Whats a good deal for a (just ballparking) 2003 CBR 600RR with I dunno about 8-10k miles, no dents dings or scratches

well honestly you are going to get a better deal on the newer ones as they will depreciate faster... a good example is KSL.com (for around here ) you will see the average 03 around $4500 then the 05 go for $5K but then the 07 will average $5500, so for just a bit more i PROMISE you the 07 is worth it. i have an 03, an 05 AND the 07.... the 07 is the way to go!

Hello & welcome aboard Troybuilt!
I'd say try & find a '05 or newer.
Has inverted front forks, stronger engine, revised bodywork.
Good luck
