New guy to the forum
Hi everyone.
Just bought my first bike - 1998 CBR600F3 Smokin Joe with only 889 miles on it! :-)
However - I called my insurance agent (American Family) and after giving her VIN#, she gave me a price of $1300 a year! Let me just tell you - I'm 31, have two cars and condo insured with them. She said that this motorcycle is considered a SUPERBIKE, that's why the price is so high...
I was wondering if anybody had similar experiance and pays that much as well... I have three friends and they have 1999 ZX-6R. 2004 R6 and 2001 GSX-R 600, and they all pay about $260 a year... What's wrong with this one? Anyone?
Thanks
Peter

welcome to the forum peter! first off congrats on finding a Smokin' Joe with 889 miles - DAMN! ya gotta post pics of that secondly, that's a very high quote for that particular bike, what you've got insured with them already, and your age - unless of course you have a horrible driving record

RE: New guy to the forum
We just got few nice days in Chicago area, so I will tr to take some pics tomorrow.
Bike is awesome. I bought it from Chicago Police officer, who was too busy to ride it for last 8 years! He put new battery 2 hours before I bought it. It's basically brand new ! :-)
I put AMSOIL in last Saturday, register and I'm almost ready to roll.
Well, I will get some quotes tomorrow and let you know.
