Default New to the group! How about this 1993 CBR?

Thanks for the add to the group.

I have had this CBR for more than a decade. It has 24K +/- miles.

I first saw one on a podium at a Honda dealer and had wanted it ever since. I finally found one and picked it up in lower WA state. No joke there. The owner wanted me to pay him before I was ready to have it shipped to the east coast. I thought that I had come up with a unique idea to solve the problem. I called several bonded tow companies to see who could pick it up. I did have the title in hand and the bonded company was able to pick it up, took photo's of the bike and I paid the seller on the spot via paypal. Thanks to the towing company I got my dream bike shipped a few days later. It was built in 1992 as a new 1993 model year retail sale.

Today it sits in my garage, fully serviced and ready to do some more miles.

I found this web site while looking to get some of the original plastics repaired. Several have broken tabs and/or cracks. As it sits several pieces are very difficult to attach and I do not know where to send them or who might be able to do the job. Broken tabs seem to be the problem with a large number of posts on other sites that I have read and obviously they are no longer available.
I am not really looking for all new non-OEM but I haven't found many other options.

Before my ownership it was given headers, jetted and some other small mods. Turn signals and the trunk was deleted to slim the tail end down. They at least gave me a little box to place paperwork in. I am pretty sure that the V&H exhaust was added at about the same time. I added a rear luggage rack and the storage on the tail so that I could carry my laptop and a change of clothes into work on a nice day

This was my son and my first trip to a Cars and Coffee. I have never failed to get a wave on any ride.

Michael

It's older sibling sold in '24
$50,000 for a 1993 Honda CBR900RR? Twice?! - RevZilla

It's younger sibling sold for:
1993 Honda CBR900RR Fireblade for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $50,000 on December 20, 2021 (Lot #61,997) | Bring a Trailer

I think that it is worth figuring out the issues with the plastics. Both of those sales were far more that what I purchased my bike for, I am still looking to repair it's issues and take it for a few more rides.

I have VIN 997

Last picture for sure.

I would have liked to have taken it out for a photo shoot as I am proud of owning it but the weather her in VA has been hit and miss.

Wouldn't it be nice to own vin 893?
