Hey all, my name is Sam, I am hailing from albuquerque, nm. I am 22 years old and have been riding for 4 years, I am on my third bike right now.

I started on a 1992 CBR600f2 that I bought for 800 bucks in good mechanical condition, I had never ridden any type of bike before except a 10 speed, and I bought the bike, asked the guy what the controls were, and rode off for about three hours back home. I am lucky I survived that one. I dont have any pictures of it, mostly because it was the nasty purple and pink decals, and it got laid down a couple times before I bought it, so it wasnt much to look at anyway. But I learned a ton about motorcycles that season, from doing repairs constantly, to riding nonstop for months and months, but I got to the point where I was too comfortable and I knew if I kept going I would kill myself, so I traded it for a truck and a brand new hp pavilion laptop. Deals.

By the next season I was ready to ride again, and I wanted something bigger, so I bought a 2001 suzuki tl1000r for 1500 bucks, it didnt run, but all I had to do was replace the spark plugs and thermostat and it ran good as new again. For those of you who have seen or ridden a tlr, you know that is a LOT of bike. unbelievable torque. I rode the hell out of it and did some cosmetic work to make it look pretty, and two seasons later I decided again that if I kept going, I would kill myself. I have never laid a bike down, so I felt like I was playing with fire. So I sold it.

This year, I moved from Seattle, Washington, to Albuquerque, new mexico, and with sun 12 months out of the year, I knew I wanted another bike down here. A buddy of mine had a 1990 CBR1000f, that he had bought from his work (a motorcycle salvage), and he still owed them $900 for it, so he told me that if I paid off what he owed, the bike was mine. So viola, I bought it and made the move to albuquerque, now on another cbr. I had to replace the spark plugs and ignition switch, a total of like 65 bucks. Nothing major.

I will be an active member on this site, I might not post much at first, but I do have some plans for the cbr that I should be doing soon and I will post up some write ups when I am done. But thats for later.

Welcome to the forum Sam.

Sounds like you've made some great deals over the years!
NM and that 1000f were made for each other. Long dessert roads will be very comfortable on it.

Get over to the hurricane section and meet the troops.

Welcome to the CBR Forum Sam,

A lot of bike history in 4 years - and I STILL own a TL1000S (and love it!).

So what are your plans for the CBR1000F? Stock? Streetfighter?

The guys are all in the Hurricane Saloon so pop in an have a virtual beer

Cheers, SB
