Welcome!
First thing to do is to change all of the fluids, check every adjustment, clean and inspect every inch of it, and make sure all the bolts you can get to are torqued properly. Inspect the tires closely. The tread may be good, but if they are old they will need replacement. Old, hard rubber is very dangerous!!!!!
BTW, where are you located?
Get up some photos when you can.

Good to have you w/ us Explorer. Welcome to CBFR!
Sounds like you found a great bike.
I agree w/ 74demon, get some new rubber on it asap. Additionally, I would suggest that you get the suspension set up for you & your riding style. You'll get better feedback from the bike & it will ride better. Then ride it for awhile & enjoy it.
