Thanks for the warm welcome. I just got my very first bike. Never rode before but looking forward to cruzing. I've never been a speed demon just always love the sport bike look. I have a 2000 cbr600. Planning to ride it to work for the summer and will be mounting a gps on it for some longer rides next summer.

Welcome aboard.

If this is your very first bike I highly recommend taking a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider course. They'll teach you things that can save your skin on the road. You use their bikes, so you don't have to worry about messing yours up in the class. I took it a couple of years ago, even though I started riding on the streets many decades ago. It was a good refresher.

Many insurance companies will give a discount to someone who has completed the course. Click on the map at the link I provided and see if there's one near you.

got my first ever ride in last night. if i can offer any advice to new riders. dont over think everything. i was psyching myself out with all this counter steering stuff. find a parking lot and practice. i was riding around the neighborhood in about a half hour. slow of course. i think i'm hooked.
