Talking new to CBR and forum!

hi! im loyd from nc. just bought my 91 CBR1000Fm and loving it. been doing a bit of work since i found out it has been wrecked. new tires, new battery, new chain ordered, new racing bearings. new chain will be here monday. also will be looking for fairings in good condition. cant seem to find aftermarket ones. where is the most reasonable place to buy a clutch kit- (plates)?? she slips when i try to put the power down... but does fine if i ease though the RPMS. suggestions pleeeeeeaaaasseeee! what kind of oil should i use to tune up? what other things might cause the bike to slip when trying to get performance out of it? also im only getting around 110 miles per tank...is this average? any comments will be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!! You will find a lot of useful information here, I can't really help with the clutch slipping issue but a lot of people are very useful when it comes to narrowing down problems with you bike.

If you get a chance, go to the April Ride of the Month poll and vote for my bike!! PLEASE lol

Sounds like worn plates. You're probably right on with your assessment of the clutch.

EBC or Barnett is the gold-standard for kits. Motorcycle-superstore is a reputable
dealer. Ron Ayers comes highly recommended for OEM.

I would suggest a carb over-haul/clean on the milage front. It never hurts on a newly
aquired bike, anyway.
