Default New CBR 929 owner, lovin' it!

Just picked up my 2001 CBR 929 with 20K miles on it. So far I've put around 230 miles on it in the last few days, had to replace the chain and it still needs new tires and some brake pads. My boyfriend has a 1998 CBR 60 F3 that I've ridden, I really like both bikes, but I'm glad that I found the 929. Looking forward putting more miles on the bike.

Other than the chain, I decided to remove the stickers on the back since I didn't think they fit with the rest of the scheme. That took a few hours, damn tedious work...

Now for the pics

Cool

Hello and Welcome to the Forum! When you change your chain hope you change your sprokets too. If not you will wear out the new chain faster. Lookin good , with the gear... Ride Safe

Welcome to the forum!
I'm with you on the decal removal.. I think it looks better without them. I like the "929RR" stickers, but that white background had to go...

Ride safe and enjoy the forum!

No idea right now, haven't looked since they're old and need to be replaced. Still doing research on what we want to replace them with.

Thanks for the welcome, glad to see an active forum.

If there were more white in the scheme I would have kept the rear stickers. As it is I run a vinyl business so I'm planning on doing some kind of black sticker back there now. I'd love to repaint the bike in Subaru blue and white, but that's not happening any time soon. I still have to source a new tank since mine has a giant dent where the rider sits. Previous owner must have dropped something on it.

I didn't replace the sprockets with the chain since the local shop did not have any in stock, but I have since ordered some steel ones online and will be replacing them as soon as they arrive. Just ordered some Pilot Powers to replace the BT016s that are on it. Will be picking up the brakes when I get my tires so I'll get the brake job done...then I can go ride again! Can't wait for the weather to clear up around here...and my BF to get his poor 600 fixed.
