Default new to cbr

hi everyone, i'm new to the forum and new to cbr. i just purchased and '98 cbr900rr and I love it. i started on a ninja 500 and outgrew that really fast but i don't see myself outgrowing this one anytime soon. any recommendation on what's a good oil to use. and also does any one have a problem with the ignition sticking from time to time? any suggestions on how to fix it? any help would be appreciated. what do you guys think of the bike? 19,000 miles on it and i got it for $4,200.

Welcome!

I pref. the Honda Pro synthetic blend oil. But then again, the only two oils I've used thus far include the synthetic and the regular dino blend from Honda. What's the scoop on the ignition sticking? Anymore details?

sometimes you have to jiggle the key to get it to turn, my neighbor said he had the same problem with his 900rr, i put dry graphite in the cylinder and it made it worse, i couldn't turn the key at all, i had to put lube and also some compressed air to get that junk out of there. it's seems to be working fine now, but i do have to jiggle it sometimes.

I had the exact same problem on my Hornet 900 (919 to you) until I couldn`t turn the key at all, ended up getting the lock changed at the dealer, now this one is doin the same thing but not yet as bad. So if ya find a solution throw it my way
