new bloke.
evening from sunny berkshire, I'm new to the forum so be gentle!! and I'm guessing the subject matter has been gone over a bunch of times too. í have ended up on this forum because the only descent information I can find on this, has been here.
so here we go.
in short, I am building this tracker style bike using a 2001 cb600f "hornet" and I am now stuck in the good old anti-theft diode from the ignition barrel. the loom is a "chopped down" version of the original with clutch and side stand deleted properly. everything......and I mean everything external of the look has been tested and is known to be working as per factory specs. this is the same for ecu, coils,HT leads and brand new plugs. the problem has been whittled down to the loom and in specific, the zener diode. I have the correct diode for the job, along with some other values and I am able to install and test everything. my question is this.
I am looking for 9v in the pink wire to ecu......but.....should it be reading 9v with everything on and ready to start.......or. should it be reading say....11v until you turn it over and then it reads 9v...???
any help would be great. I have built a bunch of bikes and have a good knowledge of most bits but clearly 8 am missing something. thanks.
