Talking New 1996 CBR Owner in WI

I just got a 1996 CBR 1000F that my wife got me for our wedding annv. Had a little issue becuase it is a CA bike and I do not like emmisions. But since made up with her so I am not sleeping in the dog house. The bike is in great shape and can't wait to ride her this weekend the bike that is.

Being in WI you only get about five months to do biking before you freeze to death.

Any way I just got back in to riding after a long pause. I was hit when I was 17 by a guy who could not stop at a stop sign and crushed my left leg ( and yes still have issues with it and makes it hard to shift). And no I did not get a great court settlement as I was 17 and well you get the picture. fast forward to last year and found a $500 bike for sale that did run, well I went to look at so I could flip it for some extra money but when I went to look at it it was 1992 Kantana 600 with only 7,000 miles on it and in great shape. So like any man would and when riding it around town tuning it decided to keep it as I was having fun. And in talking with my wife said it would be nice to have a bigger bike. I am 6'6" and 260lbs and said that I would love to have the bike I wanted when we first got married but could not afford. Well today she got me that bike.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like your wife is definitely a keeper! Make sure you swing by the 1000F forum and say "Hi"! Some pics of your 1000F would be nice to see when you get a chance

That's quite a story, and pretty awesome. Great bike and a great wife, you got it going good. Congrats on finding and getting the bike you always wanted.

WOO WOO another WI rider! Congrats on the new bike! Hopefully we'll continue with this awesome warm weather into October and get an extended riding season!

I'm new as well, but welcome to CBRF!

She does but they are married. Sorry!

Feels good had a chance to take the first one for some great rides before the snow fell and can't wait to get back on it. And now with the CB I plan on taking that to Daytona to ride the beach and around town with out freezing my nuts off.

I had one of these when we first got married and had to sell it because could not afford to keep as Insurance was like 1500 a year because I was 21. Know that I am old I can afford the bike and the insurance. Which is now only 200 a year, wow what a difference 20 years can make.

Welcome to the forums!

Wow man, I wish I could find a girl like your wife. No-one seems to understand riding and owning bikes. You're a lucky man!
