My new '97 CBR600F3! Mobile, AL Area.
Hahah, thanks guys! I'm glad I got the Honda, I'm a big time Honda addict... I want an NSX someday... : \
Indiana, what fluids should I check? The guy said it had a recent oil change... but I'd rather check them all and change as necessary...
And don't worry, I don't wear that helmet... I have a HJC CS-12 Black/Red that I wear.

hell I would even change the oil to 5w-40 Rotalla T synthetic and get a good filter. I'm picky about what's in my bike, and not knowing would bother me.
cost you about 35 bucks bucks combined.
I made some how-to's that should help a little bit.
Also check the clutch cable and make sure it's good to go.
Check the regulator/rectifier and make sure it's running fine.
Make sure it's got a good battery in it.
Might need an automatic cam chain tensioner sooner or later.
Run seafoam through it a few times to clear out some buildup (if any) in the carbs.
Invest in a manual for the F3.
+1 on the brake fluid. Bought my ZX6R used from a dealership, and both the front and rear brake fluid looked like old coke. Ive never seen brake fluid look that bad before, but then again I change mine out on my CBR every year.
Cool, I downloaded the Service Manual, and the one from Honda too, I'll check all this stuff asap
Today, im headed out side with a hair dryer to get that orange off of it!
I outlined my questions in Red/Bold

brake fluid and radiator coolant are a must.

cost you about 35 bucks bucks combined. Why do you pick 5w-40, and what filter. Where are the brake fluid and radiator reservoirs?
I made some how-to's that should help a little bit.
Also check the clutch cable and make sure it's good to go. What should I look for?
Check the regulator/rectifier and make sure it's running fine. I don't even know what this one means...
Make sure it's got a good battery in it. Should I go to Advanced Auto Parts and get them to test it?
Might need an automatic cam chain tensioner sooner or later. Dont know anything about this one either...
Run seafoam through it a few times to clear out some buildup (if any) in the carbs. Seafoam...? Lol I'm a noob
Invest in a manual for the F3.Downloaded a couple of them...

Why do you pick 5w-40, and what filter. Where are the brake fluid and radiator reservoirs? 5w-40 from rotella is available at walmart and in the perfect size for an oil change and for 17 bucks. it's also great oil. front brakes the res i located literally beside the lever, looks like a rectangle with a circular see into gauge. the back is a circular one located back under the tail.
I made some how-to's that should help a little bit.
Also check the clutch cable and make sure it's good to go. What should I look for? On the ends aka by the clutch case and by the lever look for fraying of the wires.
Check the regulator/rectifier and make sure it's running fine. I don't even know what this one means... the r/r is the most notorious thing to die on the f3. when it goes, it takes your battery and sometimes your electrical system with it. the r/r sits back on the tail (palm size, gets hot, by the ecu)
Make sure it's got a good battery in it. Should I go to Advanced Auto Parts and get them to test it? voltemeter. set it to 20v or eq. and read from + to -. you should have 13v on a new battery but at least 12.5v
Might need an automatic cam chain tensioner sooner or later. Dont know anything about this one either... second most notorious thing to die on the f3. the automatic one is located on the right side and if it dies you can hear rattling sounds. it's easy to replace.
Run seafoam through it a few times to clear out some buildup (if any) in the carbs. Seafoam...? Lol I'm a noob seafoam is a chemical used in alot of ways to help bikes but adding it to gasoline helps clean the jets and carbs in general. its like 8 bucks at walmart where the fuel injector cleaners and octane boosters are.

Another Issue I have, is the handlebar area is pretty damn ugly... and the throttle is kinda... sticky... like, it will not snap back to zero when I release... and its all faded and ugly... how hard would it be to just replace all of it?
