Default My first cbr600F!

I just got a used bike for $500. I will post a pic when able. It runs good, will need a bit of help though. One immediate thing is that the rear wheel wobbles when the brake is applied. Im assuming that means that the bearing or collar or both are shot. Im wondering if anyone has info on repair of this or how hard it is to do the replacement swingarm/wheel change from a later model that i got in the deal.
Thanks! Im excited, this bike has a ton of HP!

Congrats on the new acquisition!

If you're certain the new swingarm will bolt up, then the most difficult part is getting the right tools and deciding to do it. Do you have a shop manual?

Default swing arm switch

I just ordered a manual and have a f2 model swingarm and wheel. I think I have to put all new innards though. Ive never done that but Im fairly adept. Is there any special tools? Thanks for the reply!

you might be able to get away with using the 12" drift to knock out the bearings but the larger bearing on the swingarm sits in a recess so you might need the special tool , This type

Default bearing removal

Thanks for your reply! Im wondering if I should just get a whole wheel off ebay. Its only like $50! The tools alone are more than that to remove the bearings. What do you think?

Also, I do have the F2 swing arm and wheel and am considering modifying the frame to allow it on the F1. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this modifying?
Thanks!

Maybe the e-bay wheel is the option, the work involved with the swap is quite a lot , have a look at this

Default swing arm conversion

wow. thanks so much for that link. I don't think I have that much skill to accurately complete that conversion.

Welcome to CBRF!

Swapping swingers (haha) isn't too complicated. Just dependson what you want. If eBay wheel is that cheap, it may be a better option.
