Talking My first CBR not my first bike

Hey, New to the CBR and the forum. I've had ninja's, Vulcan cruisers, and dual sports. Just picked up a 98 CBR600F3 was getting bored with the 1500 Vulcan cruiser and only enjoy riding my XR600R Dual sport in bad weather and long trips.

I also enjoy projects and about to run out of them so I needed to by a new one. =P

I'm an Aviation Mechanic (specialize composite materials and reciprocating engines.) and I use to work at the oldest Honda dealer in the US and have had some experience working on a few CBR's here and there but not the F3 model. It's currently completely stripped of all the plastic. got some body work to do and painting. the previous did a low speed drop and managed to only crack the upper right cowling, the rest are all good. I'm wondering if I should fiberglass and bondo or just replace the fairing.

What are the best mods to do to the F3? and or your favorite?

Here are some pic's of it atm. (garage is alittle overstuffed at the moment just moved into a larger house and you know, BOXES EVERYWHERE!)

The tank and air box, The engine on the table is another one of my XR600R's that I'm boring and re-sleeving.

Welcome aboard!

Looks like a worthy project. You could repair the fairing w/ plastic welding or just replace it. All a matter of the time & money you're willing to invest (& how many Dr. Peppers you're willing to drink. ;-)

Be sure to post up your project in the F3 section to get more views, responses, & suggestions. We have a fairly active F3 section here & hopefully, you'll get the info you're looking for.

Its good to add you experience to our collective. Good to have you w/ us.

Welcome to the family!!! Glad to have you. I always love a good project and it looks like you have a good one yourself. Have fun with the rebuild and keep us posted on the progress.

If you get a chance, go vote for my bike in the April Ride of the Month poll. I would greatly appreciate it!!
