Picked up an 04 rr but chain side of rear wheel covered in gunk, what's best stuff to remove it ?

Welcome to CBRF. I clean everything with spray cleaner / polish like honda spray. You can also use USED dryer sheet. Probably need to us multiple sheets one time

It's not horrendous just looks like excess lube

Though your wheel would smell better if you used a fresh dryer sheet.

Most degreasers will work great, as well as soapy water or WD-40.

hahahaha, it might but it will not clean your rim. You have to use USED dryer sheets. How about spraying the micro fiber towel with my perfume and finish her up?

I'm with Demon, use degreaser, hose/wipe clean, allow to dry and then relube lightly with a quality chain lube.
