Default Long time rider, but new to Honda

Hey all, as the title states, I've been riding for about 15 years, but this is actually my first Honda. I've had a few Harleys, Kawasakis, one Yamaha, and several Suzukis. I got rid of my last bike, an '06 Suzuki Katana 750, two years ago when my son was born. The bug finally hit again and I lucked out to find an '05 CBR F4i with only 2200 miles on it. It's in perfect shape other than a small bit of scratches where the dealership dropped the panel while installing sliders. (definition of irony....) Got it for $4300 and the guy even threw in a factory service manual.

Welcome to CBRF!! That's a gorgeous F4i you've found. Congrats!! I love that silver/gray color scheme. It looks so clean.

I don't think you'll be sorry for getting a Honda, but I'm a bit biased, having had only Hondas for the past 11 years.

Take care on your new bike, kiss and hug your son before every ride, and enjoy the forums.

okay, so I do have one question...is the F4i a toned down version of the 600RR? Or even worse, is it considered a sport-touring bike like the Katana is in the Suzuki stables? I like the bike so far so I'm not complaining, it's just while I'm looking at aftermarket parts, I'm seeing mostly parts for the 600RR and it's reminding me of the issues I had finding things for my Katana...while there was plenty for the GSX-R's. Thanks all.

the f's are great bikes, and were honda's sport 600 line for a long time (til 2003, when the RR came into the mix). opinions may vary, but i don't think anyone here would put it on par with a katana. it's true that after the RR emerged, the f4i became more 'street-friendly' (banana seat), but it's certainly no less of a sport bike as a result. many would consider it one of the perfect all-around bikes to have, and a proven, bulletproof workhorse to boot.
there should also be no shortage of parts for the f4i. very popular platform, often customized.

Welcome to the site and the HONDA side of things
Nice find.....there seem to be quite a few late model F4is out there yet with loooow miles on them yet.
Be sure to visit the F4i forum if you have any questions on your new bike.
Believe me,there is no shortage of aftermarket items out there for the F4i.Check out eBay and you'll find thousands of parts available for it.
Have fun & enjoy the forum!
