One is the drain from around the fuel fill and usually goes to a pipe which ends up below the engine, the other is a breather and I don't think goes anywhere.

Default Update. fuel pump?

So I have been still having the same issues and it seems to happen when lower on fuel but not to reserve and under hard acceleration. I think the old owner was just gravitating the fuel into the carb’s because it’s a straight fuel line to them. I thought that was how it was supposed to be until I read some things about people replacing pumps and I got super confused. Does anyone have a picture of where the pump should be? I see the diagram but since it’s not on my bike it’s hard for me to understand where it needs to be. As well as what pump do I get and is there another filter I need besides the one in the tank that’s connected to the petcock? Links would be awesome. I hope the old wires for the pump are still there but not sure where to look. Thanks

(ps bought a brand new petcock because the old one didn’t have a lock and it couldn’t switch to reserve.)

Lots of crappy aftermarket pumps on market. Get OEM pump from authorised Honda dealer. I believe it's a Mitsubishi pump.

Also look into doing solid-state upgrade to replace mechanical controller on bottom of pump. Improves reliabilty. Kinda like going from mechanical points ignition to electronic.

Here's diagram of how pump fits and parts list:

Question Solid state fuel pump?

Hey Thanks for giving me the advice. SOO I have found another fourm and they suggested going with this solid state pump
40171 FACET SOLID STATE FUEL PUMP
https://www.aviationpartsinc.com/pro...ate-fuel-pump/
what are your thoughts on this? It looks like it will be easy to mount since I have no OEM mounting brackets and has a hole for a bolt. I also don't understand how solid state works. I have watched a few videos but still feel dumb. So does it connect straight to the battery and is always taking a charge? If that's the case then simple enough I just don't know how it doesn't drain the battery... Does it stop using power when it feels the pressure is high? I saw they said that this stops pumping when the bowls are full and that just amazes me. Like how does the fuel pump not just flood the bike over and over. If its not the case of just wiring to the battery how would I go about it? The old oem fuel pump wiring looks F#@ up and I don't even know if its the right one.. Let me know your thoughts and how the Solid state connects please and thank you!
PS I am trying to post a picture of the pump wire I think it is but its to big.
Heres a link to it. https://ibb.co/KwbLbf5

Solid-state fuel-pump doesn't have mechanical-switch on bottom (clicker). It does not connect to battery, is controlled by same fuel-pump relay as before.

There's typically diaphragm in pump that is pushed back by pressure in line. Problem is this pump goes up to 15psi! You want one with 2-3psi operating range.

To connect pump, install matching connector on pump and plug it into harness connector just like original. Here's sources for connectors:

Thank you for explaining it. I believe I can use my old harness it’s just a little short but I should be able to extend it. Do you know where I could get a solid state pump that does the 3psi? Only reason I thought the other could work is I thought maybe u could adjust the psi. Thanks again. Super helpful

Solid state would be better right? I just don’t know which one has the exact right rate and everything. Just don’t want to buy the wrong one lol. Link would be awesome but I appreciate all the help. I’m a noobie when it comes to bikes
