Hi from Orlando
Hey all, my name is TJ. I'm not new to the forum or auto scene, but this is my first foray into the moto world. My girlfriend bought a 90 CBR600F. I dunno why she did, she has no endorsement, no experience even with a manual transmission and she is too small for it. Basically a friend of a friend was getting rid of this lil guy and she bought it off him for cheap. It runs, but it definitely needs some TLC. She has (since buying it a few months ago)decided that if I fix it up that I can has (
) it for what she paid for it. I don't plan on making this bike a race machine, I'd just like to use this resource when I come across any problems the repair manual doesn't cover or is too vague with. I hope to be riding this guy regularly in the beginning of 2012!
A little about myself: I'm a junior engineering student at UCF and a part of the Formula SAE team there. We used to use the F4i (the motor was an 03 and bought used) motor from 2005-2010. We have since changed to a GSX-R for a few reasons (they were cheaper than any other CBR motors that we had available to buy and the two F4i's we had been reusing were beat to death). So I am slightly familiar with a motorcycle engine and drivetrain. I'm also a self taught (spent some money in high school learning how to fix up a beat 94 sentra) DIY guy. I love Formula 1 (Go Lewis Hamilton!) and wish to one day have an engineering position on a race team. So hello everyone, and I hope this site is as useful as my buddy said it was for him.

Welcome to the forum TJ.
Yeah, the F4i motors have been a favorite of the teams & were almost a standard to some degree.
You & your girlfriend should take the MSF Course & ride together. Motorcycle Safety Foundation
