Hi all!
Bought my first bike recently and figured I should get on the forums! Came into a 1989 CBR600f and I'm in love! Obviously she shows some age, and is missing a few things. If you or anyone you know is parting out their 87-89 cbr600f and is in possession of the original fairings (I am aware of how difficult they can be to find!) give me a shout! Also, if you know any aftermarket fairings I could find as well, let me know as I've had no luck even with the cheap Chinese remakes. And lastly, super odd question. Has anyone considered 3D printing these body parts? I have a friend nearby who is totally into the idea of trying this out with me this summer, however we would need a scan of the original or aftermarket part in order to replicate it and tinker. If you or anyone you know is in possession of these parts, and would be willing to attempt a scan (for science of course), please let me know! I've made this my summer project!
Cheers, and good riding!
Welcome to the forum! I’m in Alberta as well, Fort McMurray to be exact. Lots of great people and information on this forum.
I’m just on the process of getting this 1988 CBR1000F ready for this riding season.
Yes, I have 2 sets of body work for it, the original black set and a set that’s been painted blue. I’m going to repair the black set and run it for this summer, needs some cracks repaired, and some new mounting tabs installed. Then next winter I’ll do the cosmetic work and repaint, just want to have it rideable for this summer.
