hey im new here just picked up a 87 cbr600f1 on a trade, po says motor was rebuilt 5k ago, tank is off right now and only has rear tail fairings but this is my first bike. and im hoping a fun one. ill post pics when i get some

i got one question, when i got the bike the tank, battery and fenders are out/off
i was told it has "stage 3 jets" and i havent re-assembled yet to start it.
and the previose owner sent a a movie of it running and dtriving but said he couldnt get it to start because it was to cold here in michigan.
i havent checked weather the choke was working or not. but do these bike normally have any problems starting cold?
i havent been able to get out to work on the bike yet cuz its being stored away from my house.

 

also. what wold anyone recomend for a good cheap helmet? or is there a thread you can direct me to? im probably gonna order from leather-up there hawk helmets are CHEAP but iv heard mixed things, also they do have a few cheap bells are they any good?

 

so, i got to where the bike was being stored and got a good look over of the bike
NOT happy (shouldnt of took a trade in the dark) the bike looks pretty beat up.. the engine looks good though. and so does the oil. and it does crank over. but i didnt have any gas in it at the time so dono if it starts. here are the pics,
from what iv seen so far problems are:
no blinkers front or back. and theres electrical tape on some of the connectors on the harness so questionable wiring
tank looks like ****. and half *** sanded (do they make tank covers for these?)
no front fairings no mirrors (have stock mirrors but the peice that holds them on is cut off on both sides so no way to mount them,
has the 2 tail covers but missing middle piece that connects them above tail light
cluster is cracked to **** and corner of plastic on it is missing
only have top half of the air box
choke wire needs to be replaced or lubed better because it doesnt close all the way with the switch
missing read foot pegs and left peg metal piece that holds shifter is bent.
it came with an extra cluster but it doesnt match the one on the bike.
