Welcome to CBRF, Mick! You've gotta post some pics of your 250RR.
Since we don't get them here in the states, we like pics.

There are a couple of threads about your bike, but you're right..... not many at all. The Euro model section has a couple in it.

Anyway, good to have you here. Welcome aboard!

Mick, your bike is very cool. I wish we had them over here.

As far as restriction, we don't have any. If you get your moto license here, you can ride whatever.
Each state has there own specifics on the laws, but the differences are small.

In Pennsylvania, where I am, I had to take a 20question permit test. It was easy (had no trouble passing it the first time..they give you a study guide book). When you pass it, you have to pay $10 and you get a permit. This allows you to ride any bike, but you can't ride at night, with a passenger, or without a helmet.
Then you take a riding test. Easy maneuvers, really. The hardest is doing 3 figure 8's in a box. After that, you get your full license (it's free in my state)....and you're good to go!

You can also take a course to get your license. The course provides the bikes and class time. If you pass the course, they issue you a license.

Welcome aboard Mick, luv the CBR250....very cool
Like Kilgore said I wish they sold them here but dont (not a big enough market for small displacement bikes?)
It's true....NO restrictions on engine size here in the states when purchasing 1st bike.
Realistically you could go into a dealership with just a permit and buy a brand new 1000RR and ride away!
Crazy huh?
Anywho glad to have you here

hey Mick and welcome to CBRF!! :-)

I love the look of your 250 ... here in the UK we used to get grey import CBR400Rs that looked just like that
and they were so sweet and fun!! :-)

Take care and enjoy the forums :-)

what are the RRP for a brand new 600RR and 1000RR over there???
The 600rr has an RRP of $9,800US. (add $1,000 for ABS)
The 1000rr has an RRP of $12,000US (add $1,000 for ABS)

However, I've seen new ones advertised for significantly less than the MSRP. 600RRs being advertised for $8600 or $8700 new. (2008 leftovers even less)
Same with 1000RRs.
Look on cycletrader or ebay for an idea of the going rates.
