Hey Everyone
Hey everyone. Obviously I'm new to the site. Looking forward to picking brains of all the experienced riders that are here. I bought an '01 CBR 600 F4I from a buddy of mine about 2 years ago. Rode it for about 8 months or so before I had to put it into storage so I could go away for a year. Just got back about a month ago, and dropped the bike off at another buddy's shop for a full tune-up, body work (yeah, I layed it down just before I went away!!), and also a new paint job. When I get it out of the shop I need to throw some frame sliders on it and then it is time to hit the road again. Anyone know the best place on the internet to order frame sliders??? Also, those are pretty easy to install are they not??? Best place to find a how-to for that??? Look forward to hearing from people.

RE: Hey Everyone
Hello & welcome to the site. Sorry to hear you dropped your bike and I really hate to hear that you neglected if for a year in storage.
Do you know what frame sliders you are looking at, I mean brand? They are all fairly easy to install, but you will have to cut the plastic. Since it's in your buddy's shop for repairs and paint, I'd do it there before he starts. That way if you make a mistake, he's already working on it. I'm using Vortex sliders and can recommend them. IMO... make sure you buy frame sliders, not the "no-cut" frame sliders. Those will only help from a non-moving drop. If you crash, they usually bend out of the way and add to the damage.
You have basically two methods of installing them. Use a puddy on the inside of the fairing with the bolt sticking out to mark the location or a laser method. You can set a laser up beside the bike, aim at the bolt head and put the fairing back on. Mark the fairing then remove it. If the laser is still lined up, you're good to go.
