Hey Knackie welcome to the forum.
It is a fun place as long as the meds are taken on time!
The CBR1000F you now own has quite a bit of history in this forum, owned previously by member 'CBRSixpack'. So to bone up on the history of your new bike do a search on him and read his posts.
Cheers, SB

Oh! If you met the boy Shadow you wouldn't say that Knackie is about 6'2" and built like the proverbial brick $#%*house.
Bench presses cars for fun............
Never had a car license or an accident, so a truly dedicated, able bike rider.
Comes from a Hyosung GT650R to the CBR1000F.
Cheers, SB

My friend Byron, weighs in at 20 stone and is 6'5
He's also "little Bear"
It's a bit like calling a guy who is 5'3" - "Lofty" or a bald guy "bushy" - OR A TALL GUY "SHORTY" - all just in fun.
or dare I say it "brainiac" when referring to a Kiwi LOL HEHEHE
Be a real step up from a Hyosung - especially in the reliability stakes - never mind the power difference.
It's good to have him with us - I see he's up and running - fine thing !

wow, ive got a little catching up to do here..
"Be a real step up from a Hyosung - especially in the reliability stakes - never mind the power difference."
well now.. id not say that..i love my HYO (Sophia by name) i ride her hard, and often, daily.. gone interstate a heap of times, shes done over half her time with a pillion, and she loves it.. really the only complaint id have was the electrics.. but if id been a little richer, that would have been easy fixed.. and good smooth, usable power on her.
So this bike, well.. Shes gonna have some work to do before i like her BETTER.. but so far, i like her plenty.. and i cant quite get over just how clean she is.. looks like a show bike, RESPECT to the jockey that rodeth before I..
to Shadow, youll never upset me, got a fuse longer then Ghandi, and i drink more too haha So ill wear your moniker with pride, though id like to earn it
thankyou to all for being so welcoming..
and in answer to the other Q's, ive had a few bikes now, i shall endevour to remember dates and such, but the older ones are a little foggy.. im probly a youngin by some of your standards, im JUST (sept 4th) 28 and bow to your experience.. so the list is..
a Honda XL250 with a paris dakar long range tank and knobbies, no balance, no speed, and no traction.. i THINK a '79.. was my first.
that would be back in..um i think 2002,then a little later, a GPX 250R '95 (Natalia) better, and much more speed, MUCH more noise.. and this, i think, is when riding became fun.. definately when it became a big part of me.
then, Soph, a Hyosung GT650R in 2009, as a new, out of the box black beauty.. the first time ive ever been seduced by a bike.. even dreamt of riding her.. and really the first bike that "spoke" to me, or maybe it was just that id learned to listen. this was the first bike i scraped the pegs on, both with and without a pillion, the first to make me forget i was riding, the first to make me take a corner so well i had to pull over till i stopped laughing..
AND NOW..
My CBR 1000FN '93 hurricane..
With an engine noise that makes my spine tingle and my throttle hand twitch.. and a chassis that makes me smile..
i think this could be the start of a whole new story..
and i cant wait to ride every page..
i appologise that this is a long post, but.. there is so much more id love to learn, and to say..
and a special thanks to Sebastionbear, for all he did, to Ms Sebastionbear for, just.. everything..
and to CBRSixpack, for what must have been a very hard sale, of a very loved thing. i promise, i shall ride her with respect and pride.
