Hey All
Hey all, im saving up to get a bike and just have a few quick questions. First off, what is concidered "High Miles" on a motorcycle? Also, what would be a good CBR to get in the $1500-$2500 range but not getting into too old of a bike (1996 or newer is where im trying to stay) Thanks for the help and I cant wait to get my first bike
Thanks,
Jim

Thanks,
Jim
Hi Jim & welcome to the boards. If this is your first bike, look into an older CBR 600F2 or 600F3. Anywhere in the mid 90's will be good. I'd try and find something with under 20K miles on it. A bike is just like a car, if it's taken care of it will last.
If i had to get older than a 96 would it be worth it, or would it be better to save up and try for a newer one. I just dont know if older bikes can run into problems easily. My common sense says yes but i dont know for sure
There is nothing wrong with an older bike. Just look for one that has been taken care of. Try and get a bike that has only had one or two owners. Ask for any records of maintance & work that has been done to the bike. The great thing about bikes is that they keep their resale value. You can buy a bike for $3000, ride it for a year or two, and then sell it for $2500. Older bikes will require some additional maintance and work, but it's worth it. It's a great way to learn how to work on your own bike and save money.
