Hello & Welcome!!

Nice promo....yes they charge a bunch for the first service and give the BS that they tightened bolts, etc....I had my friend, who was an ex-honda mechanic, do my first service....

For Warantee purposes, I went ahead and forked out the cash. I plan to give honda's "Unlimited miles, 5 year warrantee" a run for it's money... 6.5K since May with a month's worth of being out of town without being able to ride it. Gogo!

Sounds a tad high. But the going rate is different bike to bike.My F4i was 175.00 at almost every shop i went to for its 600 mile service(but they did do a lot of things to it-watched them do it)...I can do my own work(ase master by trade). But i do not want to give honda ANY reason to try to void my 5 year warrenty..

Lrn2go-Im with you on the mileage and seeing how well they plan on stepping up..Only rode mine for a 4 days and racked up 735 miles.. (dam labor day weekend ) .my daily commute is 90 miles round trip(6 days)plus the weekend trips to the back roads.

Welcome to the site. $250 does seem high to me. Depending on how mechanically-inclined you are, you can probably swing the oil change yourself. There are excellent guides, such as this one. Be safe out there.
