Default Hello In Wisconsin

Hey Guys, New member to the forum and thought I'd stop in and introduce myself. About three weeks ago I was able to snag a 1996 CBR600 and have been lurking around the forum reading about everyone else's bikes until I got to ride mine. You see, I live in Wisconsin and until last week there was about 13 inches of snow on the ground along with all the associated salt, sand and ice, which would make for a bad ride on my new bike. I started out on a 1979 Yamaha SR500, a single cylinder kick start beast that was a cool to ride but a pain to start. As I'm a college student, I was unable to afford anything but this bike, which my uncle sold me, when I got my license. But, I've been suffering for two years and finally saved enough to treat myself to an electric start bike. So, this week it finally warmed up enough to ride my new bike and I love it. I think I'll be hooked on it for a long time, it's got so much more power than my old bike that I consciously have to check my speed all the time or I'll be going 70 (in a 55).

Good luck watching that speed, I think we all have to do that. I remember my old days of kicking starting a CR 450... you really know it when you mess up.

Well don't get too spoiled to quick. I think if I have to kick start anything besides my girlfriend I would leave it running.

Glad to hear it is warming up for you in Wisconson.
