Hello, i have recently passed my test and got a 89 CBR 600 at a bargain price of one of my good pals.

The bike runs great but cosmetically its a little off. The fairing were all nackerd and were held on with various cable ties and screws in the frame.

Anyway, under going a restoration and transformation, but progress isnt as fast as id like as i use the bike to get to work so what ever i do to it i have to make sure i can put it back together.

It always takes twice as long and costs 4 times as much to restore ANY bike. You'll get there, just kep at it.

Don't know if you have the fairings for the bike, but if not, it might get very expensive if you want to take here back to stock.

Having said that, you've got yourself the perfect bike to ride as a beginner!

These bikes go on forever if you change the oil. Treat her well and she'll put a great big smile on you face, I guarantee!

I picked up my old 99' in pretty much the same nick, took some time but I had fun doing it.

No doubt ill be asking for advise down the way.

I live in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Luckily though as i work in the automotive design industry i have access to a lot of decent machinery to help the job along. so that will reduce the cost a hell of a lot and i plan on making some one off CNC'd parts for her to add my own personal touch.

Its a great little bike to ride,its just a shame the tyres are so skinny.
So i will be looking for a rear swinger and front end swap. Chances are it will be from the RR as they are quite a straight forward swap. I would prefere USD's from the blade but thats due to availability and cost.

Will start a build thread and say hello in the 600 section.

welcome to the forum, imho a bike that old, i'd just improve on the fighter aspect of it than put it back to stock. you could make some REALLY good upgrades suspension wise and lighting wise.
