Cool hello from south wales, united kingdom.

hi guys and gals, right where do i start, 1989 cbr1000 street fighter, (no fairing) renthal bars, ZX6R tail unit on a custom subframe, the bike has been on the road in this guise for about 5 yrs now, and is showing its age now, so this winter she's having a revamp. I've picked up a vfr800 swing arm complete, and will be aquiring an upside down front end for it in the next couple of weeks.
has any one got any tips on the vfr swing arm swap? any spacers that are needed?
I'm a little spoilt in that department as i have a lathe and milling machine in my garage

I'll read up on uploading some pixs and post some later, see ya!

just been reading some posts, I'm in agreement with the 100 post "under your belt" rule, if your up for the forum thing then its not a problem, if you want to off load your spares use ebay! we all look at it and have "cbr" as a favourite search.

glad the link works, if you check some of the other bikes on photobucket, some old ones, some current, the cb900 soft tail is my daughters, the shadow's my wifes, the MT-01 was mine, sold it about a year ago. been tinkering with bikes all my life,(43 now).
yes, my garage is qiute well kitted out, but you can never have enough tools, well thats what my snap-on dealers says!
so, whats with the "vote for me" banner?

Nice rohirrin - I can barely change my oil! Hah i'm pretty mechanically handy with cars, trying to work my way into getting better with the bikes. I've had some mustangs and a trans am in the past that I did all my own work too. My tools are in need of an upgrade. I've let them grow feet and wander off too much over the years.

At CBRF we have a Ride Of The Month. I have been honored with a nomination for November's ROTM! I'm quite excited. if you click the banner it will take you to thread, which is why I have it there.

Some great looking bikes, so give it a look and give it a vote! I of course would be most appreciative if you directed it my way, but its fun none the less!

You can see the past winners too.

Welcome to the site, rohirrin!
Love the bikes. You've done some very cool and unique builds.

Stop by the Hurricane section and say hello if you haven't already. Good folks down there.

Unfortunately, I don't have any firsthand experience with a vfr swinger swap, but I think it would be a great mod. I believe a few people have done it before, I just can't remember where. lol...
