Default Hello from Norcal Boomer

Hi all, my name is Titus. I recently purchased a 1992 CBR600 F2. A little about the bike, its a '92 and I gave $400 for it. As you can imagine its a bit rough. It had a nasty run in with a tree..... So now I'm planning to build a nice rider out of it. It actually runs quite well, it just needs a lot of TLC.
And the obligatory pic. It's a work in progress.

Hello Titus. Welcome to the forum!

Yep, def got yourself a project there. Look forward to seeing it brought back to life. Many old bikes w/ depressing futures have new lives thanks to new owners like you. Keep us updated on your progress w/ it.

Welcome aboard! I think I recall seeing the add for that bike, and almost considered calling about it. We restored a '92 that did a dance with a deer. They are great bikes!

Thanks guys. I tore into it a bit tonight and its got a few upgrades already that may prove good yet. Its already got the K&N filter, and stainless brake lines front and rear. I checked the oil and its clean but I can see where the seal on a couple of the cases isn't holding well. Over all I'm happy with the condition of the bike. I've done a similar resto with a 2002 GSXR600 and it was the most rewarding bike I've owned to date. I still miss it.

Im sure you did. I saw it and thought I could use the parts for a Cb750 I'm building but after finding out that it runs I'm going to rebuild this one so I have something to ride while I'm building the CB. Its good to see someone else in the local area. Where did you source your parts from? Are there any good bike salvage yards in the area? I've got a lot of small parts I need.
